Fri. 27 Jan. 2012 - Doctor Who Experience London

Fri. 27 Jan. 2012 - Doctor Who Experience London

Words cannot explain how amazing the Doctor Who Experience was! I walked in to the waiting area where I saw some scene from some of Matt Smith’s earlier episodes and was impressed, but it was not until we walked into a small cinema room and began watching a video on a large screen that I began to get very excited.

The screen then proceeded to split along the “crack” in Amy’s wall and we walked into a ‘Museum’ which contained the telescope from Hound and Tooth, the Van Gogh painting from Vincent and the Doctor, a smiler from The Beast Below, a Node from Silence in the Library and many other artifacts. The Node began to talk to us about the museum before interference cause the Doctor to appear on a large screen in front of us. The Doctor was in the Pandorica and adressed us as Amy and Rory. He attempted to transmit the TARDIS to them but ended up transmitting a group of shoppers (us) instead. In the corner of the museum a TARDIS was nestled and we walked through the doors into the TARDIS console room. IT WAS AWESOME.

During this bit we ‘flew’ the TARDIS and they had hydraulics and everything which made the floor move as the Doctor instructed us to do things. All of a sudden the TARDIS goes to land. We end up on the Daleks ship and in their control room with Daleks screaming ‘EXTERMINATE’ at us (this was one of the points where the kids freaked out).

We defeat the Daleks and walk through another corridor and encounter weeping angels (I freaked out!), the Doctor telling us not to blink. We then came into a room and donned 3D glasses to watch the Pandorica open. We’d managed to rescue the Doctor. But now all of the monsters were coming to get us. This bit was sooo scary. There were 3D WEEPING ANGELS crawling out of the screen. I died, literally.

This was the end of the interactive bit and we walked out into this massive exhibition of heaps of Doctor Who props and costumes and amazing bits! THEY HAD THE INTERIOR OF 10’s TARDIS, and were playing his regeneration. I had to leave because I started to cry. I got my photo taken in the TARDIS and bought some DW merchandise!!

Can’t wait for the Cardiff Doctor Who Convention in March and the set tour I’m going on!
